IUTAM Symposium on
Nanoscale Surface Design and Phase Change for Emergent Wetting Dynamics

May 25–27, 2027

The University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan

Save the date for three days of discussion on wetting, surfaces, and phase change in Tokyo.

Organizers: Timothée Mouterde, The University of Tokyo
Yoshiyuki Tagawa, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology

About the event

This IUTAM Symposium will bring together researchers exploring how nanoscale surface design, chemical patterning, and phase-change phenomena shape the dynamics of liquids on surfaces.
From condensation and icing to Leidenfrost drops, jumping droplets, and anti-frosting surfaces, the symposium will highlight emerging ideas at the interface of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, surface science, and materials design.

More information on speakers, program, registration, and accommodation will be announced soon.
